1. WordPress 3.6.1
2. EE 3.1.35 – Calendar, Members Add-on, Multi event Reg, Permission, Recurring Events, Reminder Emails, Other Customizations
3. Not a new installation.
4. Example of a registration page: https://thinkbiglearnsmart.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=506&name_of_event=Acrobat%20Livecycle%20Designer%20Intro

Hello,

I had a question on customizing the messaging on closed events. Right now, when an event is not active, this is what is shown: https://thinkbiglearnsmart.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=788

If an event is full this is what is shown: https://thinkbiglearnsmart.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=929

I want to be able to edit the message so that I can put in a contact phone number and email address. Can anyone give any guidance on where to do this?

Thank you!

Hello, you should be able to change that phrase by using the quick localization plugin or a gettext filter. Examples of both are available in this link:

Hi Lorenzo,

Thank you for your reply. Do you know exactly what term I should be looking for when it comes to closed event messaging? I am not an experienced developer – I am just helping out our regular developer who is swamped. I am leaning towards not downloading the plugin option because we have SO many right now.

Thanks so much

Hello, you would want it to look for this:

This event has expired or is no longer available.

Hi Lorenzo,

I found it – but it is in an inactive file and I cannot find it anywhere else. I went ahead and changed the messaging in the inactive file anyway. Any clues on where else I could try looking or what I am doing wrong? I am sorry if this is a stupid question – I am no pro web developer at all – just figured it would be easy to edit the text!

Thank you!

Sorry, I misunderstood your earlier response. You should not modify the core as your edits will be lost on a software update.

Please try editing that message using the quick localization plugin or a gettext filter:
