On my development/staging servers I don’t have the key so I need to manually update. Am I correct in my understanding?

1. Deactivate the plugin(s)

2. Delete the plugins entirely (will this keep the old database tables?)

3. Install the new versions

4. Activate the new versions

And this will keep all my old settings?

Hello,

Removing the Event Espresso plugin through WordPress plugins does not delete information from the database.

We do recommend backing up before making any changes to your site.

Lorenzo,

What about any options (i.e. add_option(…) or update_option(…) ) saved by the plugin? Are those also not deleted by WordPress when a plugin is removed?

Thanks!

No, that would not delete the Event Espresso information from the database.

I still recommend backing up before making any changes.
