I’m using a pre-4.1 post 3.x EE-customized version of Event Espresso so I realize you may not be able to help but thought I’d try. I’m trying to use wpMandrill but getting the message:
I read in another post here, since closed, that you had a pre-release Mandrill add-on. I don’t see it here. Is one available for me to test? | |
Hi Harvey, You will need to opt-into the Pre-Release channel from your account in order to see the Mandril/Postmark add-on. | |
I did that months ago. Is there a separate opt-in for EE4 pre-releases? My list is empty. | |

No other SMTP plugin That was an interesting idea, turning everything off then on. I turned everything off, set up WP Mandrill, tested it successfully, then activated everything else one at a time. The culprit was the plugin “Logout Button”. Sorry to have wasted your time :( | |
Update: In case anyone else reads this post and sees the above answer from Jonathan about downloading a plugin for Mandrill and Postmark from the pre-release channel, this plugin has been removed. We now recommend using the official plugins for each of these services that are available to download from the wordpress.org plugin repository. | |
So to clarify, Josh – you’re saying just use the standard wpMandrill plugin instead and all will go well? I just installed it and found another plugin that conflicts with it: Stout Google Calendar (which doesn’t make any sense… why that plugin would need to overwrite the wp_mail function, I don’t know). | |
| Hi lhammond, Yes we recommend using the standard wpMandrill plugin. There are various ways to connect with Mandrill (such as using WP SMTP to connect via SMTP) which may be an option for you to use. From a quick look at wpMandrill Support it appears this is likely from Stout Google Calendar calling something like: require_once( ABSPATH . 'wp-includes/pluggable.php' ); and as such you would likely need to contact the plugin author for a workaround. |
