Hi.

My developer is having an issue integrating Event Espresso into our website.

We have a main listing page that shows a brief description of the events that are upcoming along with a date and time and each brief listing has a ‘More Button’.

This button when linked should go to the detailed information about the event and this page has a ‘Book Tickets’ button.

Our developer said we can’t have a more detailed page for each event and that they can’t integrate that for us? We need to have it though as it is important to the client that they are able to give more information on each event that is on.

Can anyone help me and let me know what to do. I found a few sites on the Case Studies page of the Event Espresso site that work exactly the way we want it to:
http://www.annasbay.org/tickets/
http://www.havethecraic.com/event-list/

Can anyone help me and let me know what to do.

Thanks,
Aileen

Hi Aileen,

For the most part the standard process for Event Espresso will do what you want. Using either the Event Registration page or another page with the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode (it does the same but is more flexible) you can create a list of events.

Obviously you need to style them to your own liking.

Each event has a link that says View Event that will take the user to the registration page whic contians the full event details. From their they can fill out the form and register. OR you can hide the form (“display registration form” option in each events edit screen and add an add to cart button instead. This can be done via shortcodes or via coding in the template.

Changing the wording of these can be done by adding a language file ( eg UK English and “translating” the terms, so if it says View event, change it to More info).

You can also use a drop in function in the theme to do this.

List shortcode
add to cart button shortcode
add to cart guide (instead of registration form)
Translate text
Text change function
