issues with sending invoice reminder

We are having issues with the Payment Reminder function. When the customer receives the email with the link to complete payment and clinks on the link in the email or the pay now link in the invoice they are taken to the thank you page which displays the short code text [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS] not the payment options.

Hi Christian,

If you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.
Under ‘Page Settings’ you’ll find a dropdown for ‘Auto Return URL (Thank You and Return Payment page)’

That dropdown needs to be set to whichever page contains the [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS]

If it does not, set it, save the options and re-try.

You can also confirm if this is the case by viewing Event Espresso -> System Status. Look under ‘Registration Pages’ and check all the URL’s are green.

Thanks Tony- but it was set up as you described above and the links are green in the system status page. Still the problem persists. it is showing the customer the short code on the thank you page. What else can we try?

Hi Christian,

You could also try creating another page, for example ‘Thank you new’

Place the [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS] shortcode within that page.

In the General Settings page mentioned above, set the ‘Auto Return URL (Thank You and Return Payment page)’ page to the new page ‘Thank You New’, save the settings and re-test a registration.

Does it now work?

*Note log-in details need to be admin level & we may need to run through at least 1 test registration on the site (just so you are aware as you may receive admin notifications)
