I recently set up the partial payment workaround (see this thread for details: http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/invoice-and-paypal-discrepancy-problem/) using the workaround page on this site. http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/setting-partial-payments-ee/

Everything seemed perfect until we received our first partial payment today through PayPal. The payment went through just fine and I received the payment notification email. However, I also received about 10 emails so far saying “Instant Payment Notification – Gateway Variable Dump” and listing out the various payment fields (amount, registrant name, etc.).

I checked with the registrant and she said she only received the one email, so there’s no concern there.

I’m assuming from the troubleshooting ipn page that it has to do with the modified gateway files it says to put in on the partial payment setup page.

What can I do to fix this problem? Did I enter something incorrect when I set up the partial payments? Or are the emails triggered because the payments still count as “incomplete” registration in EE?

Thank you in advance for any help you may offer!

Hi Selmore,

If you go to Event Espresso -> Payment Settings. Is ‘Paypal Settings’ at the top of the list?

Within Paypal Settings, is ‘Select the Currency for Your Country’ set to the correct currency? (the same as Event Espresso -> General Settings?)

Can you go to wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs/paypal.ipn_results.log find the latest failed transaction and email it to support@eventespresso.com with a reference to this thread please.
