I guess I misunderstood the EE iCal capabilities.
I thought there was syncing like the WP Events Plugin has.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. Yeah we haven’t as yet created a Google calendar link, though our ical works in the same way as WP Events Plugin, in that it is downloaded.

If you don’t mind editing one of the template files, there is a gist that adds Google Calendar support – https://gist.github.com/Apina/273425ce2c2c62af6d17

Does this edit make the entire calendar import-able via iCal
or add a google calendar icon?

It adds a Google Calendar link/icon, there isn’t anything at the moment to add in every single event.
