iCal File – Opening as new calendar in Outlook 2007 (and others?)

Hi,

I noticed a problem with the iCal file being opened as a new calendar in Outlook 2007 rather than a single entry in a users’ default calendar. In order to add the event to an existing calendar by default, I needed to change the line in the ICS file from “METHOD:PUBLISH” to “METHOD:REQUEST”.

To automate this, I changed the same line in the PHP script under includes/functions/ical.php

Hope this helps anyone with my same issue. I haven’t had any other issues with adding after changing this line, but if there are any other issues with this approach, please share!

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the feedback on this and the workaround! We were unable to test it on every calendar system available so this is really good info for us. I will pass it over to the devs to review.
