When a member is already registered for an event, I’d like to be able to hide the registration form and instead have something that says “You are currently registered for this event.” I anticipate having some problems with duplicate registrations, as many of our members are not web-savvy.

Any suggestions? I can’t hide the form completely because I need other members to be able to register.

Hi Karina,

How are you today?

We don’t have a standard setting/option for that so it would have to be added by a developer. You might be right about your community registering multiple times about an event, but maybe try one event and see if really becomes a problem?

If it does become a problem, you can take it to the next step and engage more help.

Kindly,

Garth

Anyone else have any ideas?

Hi Karina,

Do you require your members to be ‘logged in’ before they register for an event?
If so Dean made some adjustments that checked to see if they had registered and displayed a message here:

http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/how-to-display-member-is-already-registered-to-event/

If you don’t have logged in users this is still achievable although slightly different. The other way around is to check if the attendees email address is within the events attendee list and then display a message on the confirmation page. I have done this previously and will hunt the files down if this sounds like it will work?

Both methods don’t hide the form, just display a message which can be altered to make it stand out as much as possible.
