Groupon code redemption

Hello,

I was wondering if someone can help me undertand what the groupon plugin does and does not do. On the surface it looks like it just collects the code. Does it get sent to groupon for validation too? How does an event get marked down to reflect the groupon promotion during registration? I have a deal running soon and want to see how I can leverage this feature.

Hello,

The Groupon add on, is perhaps better thought of as a voucher addon on. So a list of codes are added and when that code is used the system marks it as used and therefore no one else can try it.

Does it get sent to groupon for validation too?

No.

How does an event get marked down to reflect the groupon promotion
during registration?

If I understand you correctly, each event needs to have the “Use groupon” option marked as yes and then the event will have an added Groupon field during registration.
