Grid view with date selection

Is there a way in grid view under the image or when you hover over the image to see the available dates, and then after selecting the event to register (Or see more info) it gives you options of which date to choose? It is a much cleaner look because it would reduce the amount of repeating images that appears when I have more than one date for an event. I have grid view, recurring events manager and mutli event registration.

This would likely require building this additional feature into the grid template. It might work to combine elements and queries from the Recurring events dropdown template with the grid view.

Is this something that is fairly straight forward that I can do with limited coding knowledge? I have several events that are one-of, but some that are recurring, so it would really clean up my event listing page if it were possible.
How would I go about doing this?
