Hi,
We want to give discount to user who register two events which location and day are same.

Actually, we offer two camp in each day. so we want to give discount price to user which register full day.

Can we add logic to the cart that if the user has purchased 2 camps, then apply the price X or apply a discount amount/%?

So please tell me as soon as possible. How i achieve this thing?

Hi Melanie,

With EE3, there is an addon called Volume Discounts. This might be suitable for you. It allwos you to set up a single bulk discount based on category.

So if you add the events to a specific category, you can set it so id two events in the same category are in the cart, a discount will kick in.

Please note, it does have limitations. For example only one discount can be created at a time, so if you wanted X events to get a 10% discount and Y events to get a 20% discount at the same time, it wont work.

Also it only works with the cart functionality (Multiple Event registration).

Other than that you would have to look into a custom coded solution.

Hi Dean,
Thanks for quick reply.

So if you add the events to a specific category, you can set it so id two events in the same category are in the cart, a discount will kick in.

I want to give discount to events which location and date’s are same. Sorry, I don’t want to give discount to similar category event.

Please let me know how i give discount based on same location and same date.

there is any hook or filter to give discount dynamically once user choose two events which location and date’s are same.

And Dean, the Volume Discounts is in the pre-release channel, so we can’t use it now anyway. Do you know when a production version will be released? BTW, the limitation of not being able to apply more than 1 Volume Discount in the cart – will that be addressed before it goes to production?

Hi,

Event Espresso doesn’t have any discounts by location or venue at this time. The best alternative would be via categories.

My apologies, Volume Discounts is in the pre-release channel but it is still useable. As it has a limited feature set we have kept it as Beta.

“the limitation of not being able to apply more than 1 Volume Discount in the cart – will that be addressed before it goes to production?”

Until EE4 is stable and has enough addons, I doubt we will be adding new features to EE3 related addons.

We are looking to create a fully featured discount system for EE4 that will improve on all the EE3 discount systems.
