Featured images not working

When I try to add a featured image, it acts like its working, but then shows a broken image after I click insert into post and the Add Featured Image text and button are still there.

Hi Jon,

Are feature images working within your regular posts?

Also, we’ve released a hotfox for 3.1.36 (3.1.36.1) that I would recommend installing.

Yes…here is how I came about the issue. I had set featured images in some events and they worked fine and showed up on front end. Then I needed the images to be bigger, I changed thumbnail size in media settings, then I used a plugin “Force regenerate thumbnails”. Then all the event feaured images went away. They were all hardcoded to thumbnails with 150×150 in the file name…those image no longer exist.

So then I was going to go into each event one by one and reselect the featured image the the newley resizes thumbnails. They exist, I can see them in file system and media library. When I go to select the featured image for an event, it acts like it works, but then shows broken image in sidebar where you would normally see the featured image. Front end show broken image with no src after resaving the event.

I would install the hotfix, but your docs say don’t enter my license while working on development link. How do I get the update in this case without auto updates on?

Hi Jon,

Right after you upload the featured image, inside the modal box where it has all the image information, there is an input field labeled Link URL. What you can do is check that and make sure it’s set to be the File URL by clicking the button that is labeled “File URL”. If it’s set to None or Attachment Post URL it will not work.

You can update Event Espresso manually by following this guide:
