Featured Images not saving to Events

I’m running the latest version of EE3 to this date with WP 3.9. Featured images are not saving to my events. I’m brought to the upload dialogue, I choose a photo from media library or upload a new one, choose ‘insert into post’ (bc there’s no featured image option), and the thumb doesn’t appear in the Featured Image box on the edit screen. I had this work one time this morning….but only once. I need to have featured images appearing on my events. Thanks.

OK, it works when I don’t remove the link on the image.
