I had just configured my featured images last week, I have not changed anything on the site, added any plugins, etc. It just not doesn’t work after the updated. Normal featured image functionality works fine on posts/pages.   Is this happening to anyone else?

Hi Jay,

What’s not working? eg. Are the featured images not uploading, they’re not displaying in the calendar, or in the event list/registration page?

When I try and add the featured image it adds a broken image icon (red x) and under the image properties it says this… http://(mydomainname.com)/wp-admin/undefined . Thanks for helping

There could be a few different causes here. The first thing I would check is in the WordPress options and verify that the “image_default_link_type” is set to “file”. You can check this by going to yourdomainname.com/wp-admin/options.php and scrolling down to the “image_default_link_type” and it should say file in the option’s value field.

Josh, that resolved my problem, thank you VERY much. Any idea why the image_default_link_type was not already set to file, this is not something I have ever had to configure before and I have been working with WordPress for many years now.

Not sure why, but there was a related issue that was fixed not too long ago:
