Hey,

I’m having this error today when I’m editing my event at the Event Overview and I’m unable to edit the event further:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘DateTimeZone::__construct() [datetimezone.–construct]: Unknown or bad timezone (UTC+8)’ in /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/time_date.php:536 Stack trace: #0 /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/time_date.php(536): DateTimeZone->__construct(‘UTC+8’) #1 /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/event-management/edit_event.php(504): eventespresso_ddtimezone() #2 /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/event-management/index.php(95): edit_event(‘2’) #3 /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(429): event_espresso_manage_events(‘2’) #4 /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php(217): do_action(”) #5 {main} thrown in /home/sgcos/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/time_date.php on line 536

Please help me on this ASAP!

Thank you!

Hi Bernard,

Can you go to Dashboard -> Settings -> General.

Set your timezone to your closest city and then Save the settings.

Event Espresso 3 needs the timezone set to a location as opposed to UTC time.

You will likely need to then update your events to remove the warning.

Do you have Event Espresso -> General Settings. ‘Use a custom time zone for each event?’ set to Yes?

Hello Tony,

Thanks so much for the reply!

Yes, I have changed according to your instructions.

However, the error still stands and I can’t edit the event further.

Thanks and I look forward for your help!

If set to Yes change this setting to No an Update the settings.
