I am not sure if this a bug or not.

I created an event where people can basically sign up via Facebook (or register interest by liking or joining).

In the blog post the external link is visible:
http://medicshelp.org/splitsville-bowling

However, when I got to the actual event shorturl:
http://medicshelp.org/event-registration/?ee=3
There is not a registration link. Even when I turn on registrations forms, then people are forced to add add their names and information, which would not be correct, it should show the external registration link.

Your thoughts?

Hi Tim,

I’m not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish. I haven’t seen Event Espresso be used like this before. It appears that you are putting a link to the Facebook event in the Alternate URL field of the event in Event Espresso. Is that correct?

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish?

Really? Not been done before… Kinda cool then.
Yes, that is what I was trying to do. Turn off the internal registration systems but keep the external link to the FB event. It was my presumption that the external link would also show on the event page description page.

Logically, it made sense to me to have people find the our site events and ‘register’ using the external registration link?

Thanks
Tim

So, you are wanting the registration to take place on Facebook and not your site?

No, the external link will not appear on the page unless you paste it.

Thanks.
Ticket can be closed. If I think up some other obscure way of us I’ll reopen it for your attention :) Thank you for answering my question and for your time. – Tim

Haha. No problem. I’m always interested in seeing how our customers use EE. :)
