Hi all, I’m creating a countdown timer for my event registration page, I need to pass the event date & time in to some JQuery in my template. I’ve tried using $start_date but can’t find the variable for calling the start time. I’ve also tried using <?php echo do_shortcode(‘[EVENT_TIME event_id=”‘.$event_id.'” type=”start_date_time” format=”Y,m,d G:i”]’); ?> but this shortcode repeats the date & time twice…

It results in “2013, 11, 29 08:00 2013, 11, 29 08:00”.

I just need the start date & time as Y,m,d G:i

Any pointers for how best to do this?

Hi Zoe,

I can suggest querying the database for these. You’ll find the event start time value is stored in the _events_start_end table. This is a nice guide to getting started with writing your own custom queries using the helpful $wpdb class:
