Hello, how can i use the event search in a sidebar or in a widget?

Hi,

To use it in the sidebar template file you could use

<?php do_shortcode('[EVENT_SEARCH]'); ?>

If you wished to use the shortcode in a widget, you would need to allow WordPress to use shortcodes in widgets, see here http://digwp.com/2010/03/shortcodes-in-widgets/

Wicked. That was to straight forward for me to find out …..

However the search itself is not very “powerful”. E.g. for search term “yoga” it does show me > 30 hits in the JS PopUp and in the message over the search field, but if i actually press the search button i get only two hits on the result page….

The search is fairly basic, using the title and venue names. Are all of those listed items active events?

Right. Could be releated to the fact i had to modify some things… Where do i find the source code for the search?

The main shortcode is found in event-espresso/includes/shortcodes.php
