event registration confirmation not working

updated to EE 3.1.31.1 from a prior version.  For the most part functionality is working fine, but event registration confirmation after submit (in the browser) isn’t working (goes right back to the form), and emails confirmation aren’t going to the user (even though they are turned on in settings).

We have the permissions, recurring events, and the calendar add-on installed.

Hi,

Please rename the uploads/espresso/templates directory. That will force the plugin to use the default templates and should resolve the issue.

If you modified the templates and that is why they are in your uploads directory, you will need to modify the new templates with your changes.

thank you for the update.  So, this prompted us to check wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, and yes – we had a “confirmation_display.php” template there we customized awhile back.  We renamed it to “old_confirmation_display.php” and now we get confirmation after registration.  Only problem is we had created that custom template to get rid of the pricing fields on the confirmation page.

So now we’ve verified that our old custom template is broken.  Within /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso (and subdirs) I don’t see any “confirmation_display.php” default template (to make a new custom one from).  Is this now deprecated and within another file?  Or am I just not finding the location?

Hi there,

The confirmation_display.php templates can be found under /templates. If it’s not there, you can download a fresh copy of Event Espresso from your account page, unzip/extract and you’ll have a copy there.
