Since the latest round of updates associated with 3.1.33.2P my Event Espresso roles specifically Event Manager have been removed from users as they log in.

The updates seem to have introduced a conflict with permissions and the WP eMember plugin I use for membership. This plugin has an option that controls whether or not WP eMember controls the role of the WP user account how which ever way this is set the result is the same.

To further explain as an Event Manager logins in the role is removed from  their WP user account. If I re-add the role while they are logged in everything functions as expected until the user logs out and attempts to login in again when it is removed again.

Normally this would be a no-brainer and I would disable the WP eMember plugin however they were working harmoniously until the update. WP eMember has not been updated.

Hi Georgia,

Which version of Event Espresso did you update from, and which version of Roles and Permissions is currently active? This information will help us investigate.

Hey Josh,

We went from 3.1.33.1 to 3.1.33.2 although I had not tested functionality post 3.1.33.1 so it might have occur @ n-1

Current version of roles and permissions pro is 2.06 with permissions basic @ 1.5.4.1

Hi Georgia,

Are you sure it was working when 3.1.33.1 was installed? The hotfix that was added to .2 didn’t include code that would affect Roles and Permissions.

Hi Josh,

Thats what I meant by n-1 it could have been the .1 code….

Do you have a version number where you know this was working?

Georgia K

It was definitely working prior to .1

Which version of Event Espresso did you have installed before .1?

Whatever it’s immediate predecessor was… I’ve updates as soon as I’ve noticed each new version.

Here’s a link to download its immediate predecessor. You can deactivate the version you have installed right now and upload/active this one if you’d like to test it out with your other plugin.

I should add, the above link will expire in 10 days or so. This way if I can delete it from my Dropbox account later on and it will be okay.

Hi Josh,

I’ve tried that however the plugin is still reporting as the current version… ‘3.1.33.3P’ I would have thought it would report as a previous version?? BTW – Behaviour is still the same.

Hi Georgia,

I’m sorry about that. I thought I uploaded the previous version. This one is for sure the previous version:
