Expresso version: Version 3.1.34.P
WP version: 3.6
Site URL: http://mantec.org

My question is in regards to Event Lists. Is there a shortcode to list the events, but only show the title of the event, the dates of the event and a link for more details. I don’t want to see all the details of the event in the listing.

Hi Gary,

If you go to Event Espresso->Template Settinges. You’ll find ‘Display short descriptions in the event listings?’ set that to ‘No’ and click ‘Save Options’.

That will make the Event Lists look similar to http://d.pr/i/2Ks2

To remove the available spaces line, add this to your themes CSS file or using a plugin like My Custom CSS

spaces-available {
display: none;
}

Is that what your looking for?

Also I would advise you to update to the latest version of Event Espresso (currently 3.1.35) unless you have modifications/customization’s preventing you from doing so?

I do have some customization made by a third party. How can I save this modifications, so I can upgrade and put my mods back in place?

Hi Gary,

Unfortunately that depends entirely on the modifications done. Do you know which files were modified?

We modified the code fro displaying events. ON the sites home page, down towards the bottom, we created custom CCS to display next four upcoming events.

See here:
https://mantec.org

We also customized the sidebar event widget on sub-pages. See an example here, under the subhead Events:

Hi,

Do you know which files were modified? No template files have been copied to the uploads directory so I can’t even hazard a guess what has been modified. It suggests they have been modified int he plugin itself so will definitely be over written on update.

When modifying the plugin we strongly suggest only modifying the template files and copying the over to the uploads/espresso/templates directory to retain them if an upgrade occurs. Also for more detailed work we suggest using the Custom Files addon to add in functions etc, again this lies in the uploads/espresso directory to not be affected by upgrades.

You may need to refer to the developer that customised your plugin in order to find out what has been modified and to get a copy of those files.
