Hello there, I’m having trouble getting the events I input to link to their corresponding post so that viewers can get the full info and register. My calendar is here: http://petersed.com/class-registration/ and a sample of a test event post is here:http://petersed.com/test/
Can someone please assist me? I have a bunch of dates to input but no sense in doing so until I get this working.
Also, about the add/update post for this event – is it necessary to select yes to creating a post to have the page occur with details and registration? I’m just curious because over time that will create a large number of posts. If so it’s not a problem, I just thought I’d ask about best practice on that.
Thanks so much!
Ok, let me update this…I found the piece in Calendar Settings that says “Link to Post or Registration Page”…now if I have this set to Post and have set the event up to create a post for it this seems to work. So this sort of brings me full circle to my last question. Does a person have to make a post for there to be an info page with registration capability. And if not, and one were to use the other setting of “Registration Page” how does that function?
When you create an event it creates something that is separate to posts and pages.
This is what is automatically linked to with the calendar or event list.
If you need the events to mix in with your standard post feed you can use the “create a post” feature. This will create one post for that event that can be seen in the post feed but is separate to the Event itself so you will have two areas on the site with the same/similar information.
You dont need to create a post, for each event it is optional.
