I purchased the plugin last year and had a serious problem… Any user already on the registation page when the event becomes full could still sign up. As our site receives a lot of traffic when event registration goes live, this resulted in dozens of refunds and unhappy customers. I was told that a registration queue would be put into effect to resolve this. This system could keep track of the available spaces left and notify people that their registration cannot or may not be processed when the event becomes full. As we are a month away from registration for this year, I would like to confirm that this problem has been addressed to avoid last year’s headaches. Thank you!
Back in version 3.1.19.P.31 we fixed a problem with the get_number_of_attendees_reg_limit() function. It was not calculating the number of attendees correctly. This seems to be what was causing your issues. It shouldn’t be a problem now.
Thank you very much for your prompt response. After searching through older support forums, I see that another user described the exact same issue and it was indicated that this would be added to the Event Espresso 3.2 milestone. As we are not yet on this version, I am afraid I will face the same issue again this year. Here is a link to the user’s original post: http://staging.eventespresso.com/forums/2012/02/cheating-the-attendee-limit/
You’re correct. This has not been fixed and isn’t going to be fixed within the month. All I can suggest would be to set the limits lower than capacity and set up waitlist events for the events that sell out quickly.
