testing out the Iphone app (4s) and successfully connected to the event. However, when I try to check myself in, it declines, stating that I’m already checked in. But then it goes and checks me in anyways. Not sure why this is happening.

One additional problem – when i click on the invidvidual name and go to “check out” to try the process again, it does not let me. Instead i get an error that is titled “Check-Out Failed!” Adding of date checked-out failed.

Hi,

The latest iPhone app is version 2.1, maybe upgrade and see if that resolves the issues – https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/event-espresso/id437176959

Also please make sure that you have the JSON API plugin installed and configured (available from your account page).

Thanks – any way to download that directly to the Iphone from the app store without having to go to Itunes to get it? I can’t find it anywhere – only the older version.

Hi Elizabeth,

Try searching for ‘Event Espresso HD’ within the App Store.

What iOS version are you currently running?

Hi Tony – running IOS version 7.0 – i have done multiple searches and the only event espresso HD version that comes up is the older one.

I was able to download the newer version of the mobile app. Already had the JSON API plugin installed and configured…however now I can no longer log in to my URL at all. Instead I get: Sorry can’t log in HTTP/1.1 406 Not Acceptable

Do you mind if we take a look at your WP admin? Please send WordPress admin level log in credentials via this form:

Hi Elizabeth,

I tried logging into the HD app and tested the JSON API on your site and in both cases the server is throwing errors. When I test the JSON API it shows a blank screen, and when I try the app it gives me a 500 internal server error.

The cause could be either the server is running low on memory or there’s another plugin that’s conflicting with the API plugin. We have a troubleshooting guide that outlines what to do when there are errors like this one that you can follow here:

I just installed the WP memory usage plugin and the results show
the following usage: memory limit 128 mb, memory usage 45.02 mb, at 35%. Furthermore, I have another site that I also tried the mobile app with the same results (and it resides on an entirely different server). The earlier HD version lets me log in to both, but the newer one does not. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Elizabeth,

No other ideas at this time because the same problem persists. You’ll notice that if you go to yoursite.com/twsalaskameeting/espresso-api/v1/events/public.pretty_json you’ll see a blank page. That should not be a blank page.

Have you tried temporarily deactivating all non – Event Espresso plugins and temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme? This will help narrow down what’s causing the issue.

I’m somewhat confused – when I put in http://twsalaskameeting.com/espresso-api/v1/events/public.pretty_json to my web browser, i do not get a blank page. The response shows { “status”: “OK”, “status_code”: 200, “body”: { “Events”: [ { “id”: 1, “code”: “2-50171b6b3859d”, “name”: “2013 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ALASKA CHAPTER OF THE WILDLIFE SOCIETY”, “description”: “. Is this an error then or should it be working? That is not the event i’m trying to connect to specifically, but it is one the events i have set up in the past.
thanks

FYI – I uninstalled version 2, went back to 1.6.2, and found a thread that solved the intial problem i was having – I simply deactivated then reactivated my ticketing addon – and now the checkins- and checkouts seem to work! I will simply keep using the older version until I’m sure I can get the update to work. thanks

I checked

http://twsalaskameeting.com/espresso-api/v1/events/public.pretty_json

just now and it’s working for me now as well.
