All of a sudden, none of my event list or calendar pages are showing. They were working fine a couple hours ago.

Two examples:

http://www.brookfieldlibrary.org/brkwpress/events/event-calendars/kids-events-calendar/

http://www.brookfieldlibrary.org/brkwpress/events/event-calendars/all-events-calendar/

Thank you –

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Did you enable the custom post types feature in the past few hours? The custom post type feature registers a new post type with the permalink slug of ‘events’. So any pages set up as child pages of a page with the slug ‘events’ will 404. Changing the slug to something other than events should fix this.

Brilliant, thanks, that had been checked. However, I’m still unable to access those pages after turning custom post types off. Is there another setting I need to change?

Head over to WordPress > Settings > Permalinks and re-save the permalink settings. That should flush the re-write rules.

Thank you again. My experience with EE support has been second to none so far!

One more question (I hope). How can I get the event time to display in the event lists?

You could use the [EVENT_TIME] shortcode in the event_list_display.php template. See this section of the shortcode documentation for more information including some sample template code: http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#time-date

If you haven’t already done so, I would recommend updating to the latest version of Event Espresso before modifying the templates, as a few have changed in the last update.

Please see this guide on how to keep template modifications safe from being overwritten on an update: http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/put-custom-templates/
