I just purchased the business license and installed the plugin. For some reason the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] short code does not seem to be working. I added two test events and added the page http://ultimatestreetcarassociation.com/event-list/ with the short code for each event. When you click on the Register button it takes you to http://ultimatestreetcarassociation.com/event-registration/?ee=1 but the page just displays [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

Hi Michael,

It looks like the main registration page setting was changed in Event Espresso>General Settings. Can you review the documentation for the page settings and compare your set up to what’s outlined there:

http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/the-basic-settings/#page

I have the Main Registration page set to Event Registration and that page has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] short code as per the page setting documentation.

“Main Registration page – the plugin will create a page called Event Registration which will contain the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode and will display your events as well as process the registrations.”

Not sure what might be wrong.

Not sure either. Can you try temporarily disabling the other plugins installed on the site to rule out a conflict? This will help narrow down what’s causing the issue.

Done.. still not displaying correctly. The short codes [EVENT_LIST] in the event list page is working fine.

Hi Michael,

Can you make a new temporary page (call it anything you would like)

Add the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode to that page and publish, then set the ‘Main Registration page’ to that page, and retest please.

Well that seemed to do the trick. I had deleted amd trashed the page that EE created when it was installed and rebuilt it but it still didn’t work. When I changed the default page to Register it worked fine. Strange…

Strange, re-creating the page shouldn’t be an issue.

Event Espresso should work with any page as long as it contains the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] and has been selected within the General Settings.

However we have seen it before that the default page just stops parsing the shortcode as above for various reasons, re-creating the page usually resolves the issue.
