Error on Manage Payment Gateways Page

Upon activating the PayPal Pro payment gateway an error appeared towards the top of the page. This is the error showing: Warning: file_put_contents(/var/www/html/joslyncastle/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways/atos/default/pathfile) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/html/joslyncastle/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways/atos/settings.php on line 117 Is this simply a permissions problem in plugin directory?

Hi,

It could well be, that line refers to writing data to a file. It does however refer to the ATOS gateway not the Paypay Pro, do you have ATOS enabled?

No, the only payment gateway enabled is PayPal. This error showed when I turned PayPal on, and then went away when I 777’d the plugins directory. Very odd.

For security, I’d only 777 the gateways directory, and, even then, probably just the /atos gateway, since that’s the where the file in question lives. Then leave everything else at 755 or whatever your default permissions is. That pathfile is constantly causing issues for us, as well, since it tries to create a file automatically, which then alters our development environment. We have a ticket open, I believe, to fix this so it doesn’t try to create the file unless the gateway is being used.
