It is quite important for an upcoming, public (not members only) large scale event that users can cancel their registrations if they can no longer make it. (I don’t wish to have to deal with up to 100 cancelations by hand)
I note that at the moment only registered members can cancel event (if using the members add on).
Is there an easy enough way to customise the php to accept a handle such as “my-tickets/?cancel=%registrationID%” which could then cancel an individual registration?
I found some old dicussions about this from 1.5years ago – any chance this is already in a pre-release?
I think I was a little unclear unless I’ve missed something.
I’m trying to allow visitors to cancel their registration. These users are not members, and as such my_events doesn’t provide this function for them as they cannot login.
If there a way to cancel a registration without a login?
Unfortunately not, no. The reason being is that the user needs to be registered and logged in for it to allocate the registration to them, and then they need to be logged in to cancel.
If the user is not logged in at the time of registration it isnt allocated to anyone, and as such can only be cancelled by the admin. This allows a layer of security otherwise anyone with access to the link can cancel an event.
