Email Tags: Groupon IDs and Event IDs

Hi,

Are there email tags for Groupons and Event IDs? Would like to add both to the email confirmation attendees receive. The reason: if an attendee needs to re-schedule, would like to be able to have them verify this information on the re-schedule form they are submitting. Thanks!

Hi Maria,

Event ID is just [event_id]

Groupons are a fair bit more complicated. They arn’t stored with the attendee information within the database afaik and so can’t be called in reference to them.

I’ve seen people ask for the Groupon Sec code as a custom question for the events, this could then be called for using the [custom_questions] shortcode.

okay thanks – the only thing is there are a lot of events already created and they all have a groupon code that can be entered. Concerned that if I add it as a custom question: 1. would I have to go back and manually add each custom question to the each event and 2., will the discount be automatically applied to the event?

Hi Maria,

To answer your questions: The groupon question could be added to a group that is already set for the events, so you wouldn’t need to go back and manually add each custom question to each event.

The question field would not apply a discount as it’s just a question on the registration form. So with this idea, the groupon code would have to be entered twice; once in the registration form and once in the voucher code input box.
