I have a Personal License but when I try to use the Email Attendees option I get the Upgrade Now page showing the 3 License options. Do I have access to this option? If so what do I need to do to get it working?

Hi Cindy,

Yes you should have access to that feature, any premium licence holder (personal, business, developer) has access to all the features of the core plugin.

A few things

Have you tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin?
What version of Event Espresso are you using?
If you were using the free version prior to the premium have you removed the plugin from your site?

I am using version 3.1.29.1. But I think this is the original – the only new plugins I added were the social media, calendar and multiple events. How do I go about adding the premium version without screwing up all of the event info I have?

Hi Cindy,

It sounds like you have the lite version installed, is that the case? You can verify whether this is the case by going to the WordPress plugins page and looking at the version number of Event Espresso that is installed. The paid version will have a “P” at the end, the lite version will have an “L”. If the lite version is installed, you can follow this guide to update to the paid version:

Thanks Josh, yup that’s my problem. I’ve had a look at the link you provided and just want to clarify – will my existing event remain intact when i follow this upgrading process?…a little worried

Hi Cindy,

Yes it will remain intact, the “Lite” version uses the same structure as the Premium and the database information remains.

However, it is always good practice to back up your database regularly and prior to updating WordPress or even themes/plugins, so you have a recent copy if anything untoward happens.

You can use a thirdparty plugin to back up but you must remember that it needs to back up the while database not just WordPress, or you can do it manually – http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/
