Dear all,

after signing up for an event people shall get their receipt by mail or any further confirmation about there tickets. But this email isn’t sent to them. May you please give me an advice how to solve this?

Second issue is about the last page when it comes to “finalize registration” there is a yellow marked windows that says: “Please wait while we process your registration. Do not refresh the page or navigate away while this is happening.
Thank you for your patience.” It takes between 3 and 5 minutes until it says that everything went right and until I can see my receipt.

May you also help me with this? Thanks a lot for your advices and suggestions.

All the best,
Hubertus

Hi,

But this email isn’t sent to them

The emails are controlled by WordPress and your server, as such you need to do some testing.

The first thing you need to do is test that your emails are working in general.

Use the Check Email plugin to make sure general emails are being sent.

If thy are you could try a plugin such as WP SMTP Mail or a service such as Mandrill to help improve mail delivery.

If they are not working when using the Check Email plugin, you will need to refer to your host for further assistance

It takes between 3 and 5 minutes until it says that everything went right and until I can see my receipt.

What type of server do you have – shared? Dedicated? It sounds to me like this is a server issue in that it’s slow in responding. Are you suffering from any other slowness on your site?

That being said, can you provide a link to your registration page so we can check it and make sure there are no obvious issues?

Hello Dean,

thanks for your input. I have asked the server provider to have a look at the email problem. I think it is based on server configuration since the check-email plugin said the same.

You can find the link to the test event here: http://www.ichom.org/event/

It still loads very long after proceeding the event.

Best,
Hubertus

Hi,

OK, well I can’t say if this is affecting the load times, but I see an issue that certainly needs resolving before going any further.

On the event page you linked to is a JavaScript error. Normally an error like that will stop all other JavaScript from working.

Fixing the error *might* fix the load time, but if nothing else we will then have a level playing field to test with.

The error is coming from the theme, in the /js/jquery.script.js file.

The error reads “Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function” and refers to the UItoTop function in the same file.
