Hi
We have events coming up where we only have free tickets so no payment is required. Is there a way to remove the ‘Finalize Registration’ button from step 2 as it is misleading and people will click it and then get an error. For a free event step 2 does not really need to be displayed at all, just the thank you message.
If people click or double click the Finalize button then it looks like their registration has not worked and comes back with an error.
And instead of the ‘Proceed to Payment Options’ it could be ‘Confirm Registration’ or a custom saying.
The Finalize button is needed to ‘close’ the registration, basically when registering you open up a ‘session’ which identifies your registration while it is still ‘open’ then when clicking finalize the session closes and information stroed to the database.
However, it should work fine with free tickets. If a free ticket is selected when Finalize has been clicked the registration should just finalize and show a confirmation.
What version of Event Espresso are you currently using?
If possible can you link us to the event page so we can investigate further?
We found an issue with version 4.1.7 effecting some users which could cause an error when clicking the Finalize button with ‘Free’ tickets which has now been fixed.
An updated version of Event Espresso 4 has been released (version 4.1.8) could you please update and try again, the Finalize button should not cause any issues with Free tickets.
Please do lets us know if you still receive an error message.
