Wordpress – 3.8 : EE – 3.1 + Calendar Table : Registration page – http://slypn.org.uk/event-registration/

We have our events divided into categories: social, information, fundraising. I’m using the calendar template in the widget on the sidebar… and we love it! … However, as we get more events the page gets longer and longer and I wondered if there was some way I could possibly just profile the next social, info etc event automatically. At the moment the only way I can think of doing it is to create a category “next event”and then just profile those ones, but this would be an chore and likely be forgotten over time. I’m willing to experiment with a bit of coding , although I’m not that good but if it is possible, could you point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Susie,

The Custom Templates all use the [EVENT_LIST] as a basis so any of the parameters that work with the EVENT_LIST will work with the Custom Templates – http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#event-list

What you could do then is use the limit parameter, so it will only show X number of events in one go.

You could further limit this by using the category_identifier parameter to only show from one category (then perhaps use several of the Template shortcodes each showing a different category)
