Is there any way in which I can disable the payments part of EE? At the moment all my events are free (or I’d like them to be).

However, the payments pop up in at least 3 places: on the edit event screen, on the confirmation screen (it says price = 0.00) and in the email.

Any clues?

thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob.

From my testing there is no way to turn the payments system off easily, as it is tightly integrated into the plugin, unless you do some fairly heavy coding customisation.

I would think though that the easiest option would be to CSS out the sections you don’t want visible, and use a custom confirmation email for the events.

Ok, I am making good progress with this. However, some of the payments stuff I can’t turn off with CSS.

namely, in the confirmation_display.php template, there is a price field which I would like to hide.

Is there any way I can override these templates in a theme?

thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

If you mean override the Event Espresso templates, then yes. Copy them to the uploads/espresso/templates folder and hack away.

can I put these anywhere inside my theme, or do they have to go in uploads?

Hi Rob,

The Event Espresso template files must go into the uploads/espresso (copied not moved!) as thats where the plugin will check for them.

ok, thanks. that worked nicely
