I am not sure where I am missing the boat on setting this up and why I can’t find documentation on how it gets setup but here is my situation:

I have turned the Custom Post Types option to Yes. When I did I got a new menu item called Event Posts.

When I create or update an event, nothing gets created in the Event Posts area… so I am extremely confused as to what the area is for and how I get EE to produce the CPTs.

Help please?

Thanks.

Hello Aaron,

I think whats missing is creating a post from the Event itself. Normally you can select it to create a standard WP post. With the CPT active you can choose between standard post or CPT.

Some help – http://staging.eventespresso.com/forums/2010/11/custom-post-type-example-code/ – sorry the docs are a little old on this, its in the pipeline to update.

I would ask you to think about whether a CPT is needed or not on your site. For the most part just having the Events and the standard WordPress posts are sufficient and less confusing.
