I am currently in the process of converting a site that had existing event posts to use Event Espresso. The site previously used custom post types to display future events on one page (by using post-status=>future in the query) and previous events on another page.

I greatly appreciate Event Espresso’s support for custom post types, but I would like to see if the following is possible (PHP editing is not a concern):
1. Can I do anything so that the date used through Event Espresso for the event is used as the publication date for the custom post type?
2. Is there a way to make “create custom post type” automatic (default = yes instead of no)?

Thank you.
