Hi, I have EE 3.1.30.7P installed on wp 3.5.1 and I made some changes in includes/functions/cart.php and email.php
I would like to know if I can copy the code changed from those files and put in the custom_functions.php so when there will be a new update, I can still have my changes. I didn’t create any new functions but I only changed the existing ones to style better or send less mail. I’d like to know if it will not be a problem leave the functions in the original file and the changed ones in the custom_functions.php and if something is declared in custom file, is not re-declared again.
I hope it’s clear enough, I’m not a programmer… My website is online and before try to make some changes, I would like to know if it will works. Thank you for any suggestion, Marco
It really depends on what you are trying to change. In the current version there are not many hooks to modify things or pluggable functions (this is vastly improved on in the next major release), so again it depends.
Can you provide more info about the changes you have planned?
