AFTER event registration client can choose check or Credit card.

When they choose credit card they are being taken to ../?page_id=1428 and there is no SSL protection?

If you click on the email confirmation, click the “Payment Details” you are taken to the “thank you” page which is setup in EE and SSL works great.

This is per our setup with WPEngine and the discussion here a couple months ago:
http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/how-to-setup-ssl-and-wpengine-with-eventespresso/

I don’t recall the /?page_id=1428 before?

Hi Bob,

This looks like a hosting issue because if I try to type:

https://streetsmartsdriversed.com/class-registration/

or even

https://streetsmartsdriversed.com/

it redirects back to

http://streetsmartsdriversed.com/class-registration/

and

http://streetsmartsdriversed.com/

Can you contact your host and let them know that the pages you need to load securely aren’t loading securely, they’re redirecting back to http?

So SSL is now forced on /class-registration but we broke the confirmation?

We can register for a class (with SSL),

Choose Credit card

Complete registration takes us back to the event registration page?

Hi Bob,

Can you check to see if there’s a plugin conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins.
It may also help to turn on debug mode. You can set wp_debug to true by editing the wp-config.php file.
You can use an [FTP client][1] and [a text editor][2] to access change this line to the site’s wp-config.php file:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);

SSL registration page is now working and we are continuing to monitor.

After talking to WPEngine 3-4 times today I got a screen copy of the forced SSL here:

I asked them to remove the gateway paths

AND they disabled “Force SSL Objects”

and the problems went away.

We haven’t fully re-enabled UberMenu as we were out of time and needed the client site back up and running.

I will report more in a couple days!

I tried to attach an screen shot but it failed.

WPEngine was forcing SSL on /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways….

We removed all references to gateway and stuck to the three pages:
Registration, Thank you and transaction pages.

Hi Bob,

That should do the trick.
