Sorry to ask this, but I couldn’t find any descent documentation on how to achieve this:
What is the easiest way to add the option for users to pay with credit cards? (MC, Visa, Discover, AmEx). I’ve set up Paypal already and Paypal pro is not an option due to the SSL cert requirements.
Thanks.

All payments are handled via payment processors (the payment gateways), so you will need an account with whichever processor you use and we support in order to accept cards.
PayPal will accept those cards you listed.
There are 2 types of gateways: offsite and onsite.
PayPal (normal) is an offsite gateway as it takes the user away from your site in order to process the payments. PayPal for for example is an onsite gateway, it processes the payments without leaving your site.
Most if not all onsite gateways demand an SSL certificate, plus your customers will feel more secure with a a valid SSL cert.
Thanks for the info, I’ve set up Paypal to take those credit cards.
One more question: my client has a Wells Fargo merchant account and would like to use it for the event I’m setting up. Can this be done with Event Espresso and how?
