Is there a setting in Event Espresso that you can set to use the Name of the Event as the URL for the registration page?

so e.g. Course Name = Awesome Event
URL = http://www.website.com/awesome-event/?ee=22

Hi Amy,

How are you today?

In EE3 there is not an automated way to have keyword rich urls. That feature is available as a standard (and automated) feature of EE4 (http://staging.eventespresso.com/features/keyword-rich-urls/).

Depending on how many events you have though, you could create a manual workaround by:

– Creating a standard WordPress Post/Page with all the event details
– Add the registration form shortcode for your individual event to the individual page/post to facilitate registration e.g. [ESPRESSO_REG_PAGE event_id=1]

That way the page has keyword-rich URLs (“pretty permalinks”). It’s more manual but a valid option if you’re using EE3.

Hi Garth,

I am good thanks. Ok will look at upgraded EE. Is there a setting to enable keyword rich URL’s or is that as standard?

Hi Amy,

EE4 uses Custom post Types for events, so “pretty permalinks” is standard, and will show whatever keywords that are added to the event title.

Hi Dean, keen on upgrading, but see that a number of addons are not compatible yet. Any idea when the addons will be updated and work with EE?

Hi Garth We have 4 events with multiple dates. At the moment I create a page per event but use the short code for a category. Based on what you suggested is I would have to create a page for every event date
, which mean around 50?

Hi Amy,

Unfortunately I don’t have an estimate on when all addons will be available. The developers are beginning with these addons:

http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/status-of-ee4-add-on-compatibility/

To get the keyword rich URLs in Event Espresso 3, you would need to manually create the WordPress pages and add the shortcodes.
