I can’t seem to get the hang of this. I’ve read all the instructions, comments, and if it’s not one issue it’s another.

What I’m trying to accomplish, is allowing multiple people to register at the same same, and also for those people to purchase different tickets (for example kids and adults).

When I have 2 ticket prices for an event, only one price shows in the event list.
When I add to cart, the cart remains priced at $0 with an error message saying i need to select between (max group size 1-4) but when I click the edit cart it doen’t allow me to add qty of tickets at each level.

What am I missing? Is there an actual step by step for creating this exact situation? Please help I’m going crazy here

Hi Rufus,

The events are actually being added twice to the cart which should not be happening.

Which shortcode are you using on the winter2014 page?

Hi Tony,
I’m just using [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

Hi Rufus,

You have the Volume Discounts Add-on enabled. Can you try disabling that and see if everything then works?

Can i get a refund if I can’t get this working? I’ve wasted too much time already on what should be a simple setup. I mean, I can draw on paper how this thing should work. Support has been great but why do so many people need support?

No Problem :)

Do you use want to use the Volume discounts add-on?

I suspect either the add-on itself or the event is incorrectly setup for Volume discount.

originally I wanted (and still do actually but can’t figure it out) a season pass which would be valid each weekend. I was trying to get the volume discount to decrease the total price of all weekends in the winter to match the price of just one ticket. So they buy 1 ticket for $145, and get registered for all 25-ish events, but only pay for one event. I was using the volume discount to try to accomplish this, but the % discount applies to the total, and can’t be set to the total ABOVE the threshold (which would make my workaround actually work!).
If you have suggestions of how to get my actual desired outcome, please let me know. I read the season tickets example but it’s a different situation to mine.

Hi Rufus,

One idea that might work would be to make the season ticket its own event.

With your two other issues:

What I’m trying to accomplish, is allowing multiple people to register at the same same, and also for those people to purchase different tickets (for example kids and adults).

The way to accomplish this in Event Espresso 3.x is to force all the registrations to go through the cart. This will allow people to select both kids and adults-priced tickets in the same transaction. There is a step by step guide here:

http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/

When I have 2 ticket prices for an event, only one price shows in the event list.

The event list will only display one price. We are working on a way to make this display more prices. In the meantime, there are ways to make it display a list of prices. There is some example code with instructions on how to apply the customization in this gist:
