Hi,

I have a class that runs continuously (i.e. once a week for the foreseeable future). Participants register for a specific period of time (i.e. 3 months) so during the course of the class, participants are coming and going. I also want to be able to limit the total number of participants at any given time but allow people to register for the future. Is this at all doable with Event Espresso?

Thank you

Dean

Hi Greg,

Sorry about the slight delay in getting back to you.

As far as I can understand your needs, you would need a singular event that is ongoing, where when the attendees allotted time has ended it removes the attendee from the quota. The first part is definitely doable with Event Espresso, the second is doable but a manual process, so if you have a high number of spaces or a very high turnover it could become a tiresome job.

Limiting registration numbers isnt an issue, Event Espresso can handle that, but then you come to the future bookings.

Having a single ongoing event means that the users cant sign up for the future, they can only sign up to an ongoing event. You could include a Question for them, “when do you want to start?” which would give you an indication, but it will mean manual work again to track.

You could set up individual events for each day, allowing you to track, but then the problem comes that you cannot manage an overall registration limit as each event will have a limit independently.

I would say that whilst Event Espresso can do a lot of the individual things you want, combining them into the exact system you want may not be possible, certainly not out of the box.
