Click-through from Calendar to Event Description?

I have a site set up with 8 events for an 8-week training course. Week 1 has the registration turned on, while weeks 2-8 have registration turned off. On my events page I am using a shortcode to display only the first event (http://joyfulparenting.org/eetest/) but on the calendar all 8 events are displayed (http://joyfulparenting.org/eecalendar/).

What I’d like to do is to be able to click on weeks 2-8 and be taken to the event description page. Currently clicking on one of these events takes you to the week 1 registration page. Is there any way to alter this?

I’m currently running WP 3.8, EE 3.1.36.2.P and Calendar 2.2.2.p

Thanks.

Hi Deni,

Can I ask what shortcode is within the page eetests please?

I suspect it was originally [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] which has been replaced with [EVENT_LIST]?

Yes, the code is [EVENT_LIST category_identifier="first-event-1389775602"]

The [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode is required in order for Event Espresso to work correctly. It can be hidden from the sites navigation menus but must be publicly accessible.

The [EVENT_LIST] shortcode is used for custom event lists that you can modify and apply filters to (such as the one you are currently using by adding the category_identifier parameter) but it can not be used as a direct replacement for [ESPRESSO_EVENTS].

If you go to Event Espresso -> System Status. Within the ‘Main registration page’ dropdown under Page Setting is that currently eetests?

Ahh! Perfect, thank you!

I’d missed that, so I’ve now got a page called “EE hidden” with the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode (and linked in the settings), and “EE test” with [ESPRESSO_LIST] shortcode and the calendar now works perfectly.

Thank you!

Just to confirm is ‘EE Hidden’ also selected under Event Espresso -> General Settings (Apologies – I put ‘System status’ above) -> Page settings – Main registration page?
