Hi.
I added the word “Tax” in the General Settings> Advanced Features>Display text (eg. Surcharge or Service Fee)

The word “Surcharge” is not been replaced in the checkout process. I tried creating a new event with no luck replacing the word surcharge.

What am I missing?
Thank you!

Hi Rebecca,

Can you clear your cache and check again?

Hi Dean,

I tried clearing the cache and also opening the page in a new browser and I still see the word “Surcharge” instead of “Tax”.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi Rebecca,

OK now we have made head way with the other issue you had I can see this now. It looks like the option to set the Surcharge name isnt working for Multiple Event Registration add on.

I will raise a ticket with the devs on this to fix it. I cant give a timeline though. In the meantime you can use a workaround if you need to. Using a program called Poedit you can edit the language file and change all instances of Surcharge to whatever you need it to be.

Hi Dean.

I edited the language file (event_espresso-en_US.po) found in wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/languages and replaced all instances of Surcharge with Tax (I used a simple text editor for this, not poedit)

In the wp-config.php file I added
define(‘WPLANG’, ‘en_US’);

I refreshed the cache but I’m still seeing the word Surcharge.

What am I missing?

Thank you.

Hi Rebecca,

If I’m not mistaken, a simple text editor will not work for these types of edits. You actually need to use a software like Poedit. Poedit is free and very simple to use for this type of work.

Hi Jonathan,

Poedit did the trick. Thank you.

Do you know when the fix will be ready for the Multiple Event Registration that Dean makes mention to?

Cheers.

@Rebecca
This is not scheduled to be looked at until the next version after the current update in development (3.1.31).
