Wordpress Version: 3.5.1

EE Version:  3.1.31.1

New installation

I am trying to get my events questions to have “free text” (just some normal text) above certain dropdowns but I think the only way to do this is with question groups.  So i have the personal information question group and I created a new one with one dropdown in it.  I checked the show group name checkbox but it does not show.  I also i have the group checked within the event details itself.

Is there something i am missing or a better way to accomplish what i am looking to do.

Hi Matthew,

Adding text to the group name and setting it to display the group name should work. There is also the option to add text to the group description and the group description can also get set to display. Here’s a screenshot showing both set to display:

I can’t say that it was an issue with 3.1.33.1, but there were a few issues that needed fixing and they were fixed over the last few weeks as hotfixes. If anything you’ll avoid dealing with the other issues if you update to the latest version.

The Title and Group description both do not show.  I cannot upgrade because of a bunch of core changes we needed to do to fit the requirements we needed.  I noticed that this notice was showing for the group “Attention: This is a “System Group”, some settings may be disabled.”  Do you think this has anything to do with it?

Or if there are individual HOT FIXES that I can apply I could not find them on this site either.

Matthew,

Being that we don’t support the modification of core, I don’t know what we can do to troubleshoot. As Josh stated, what you are doing should be right, but since you modified core, anything could be happening to mess it up.
