I just don’t get the roles and permissions area. There appears to be an Event Admin role, according to the User Permissions page, but this role does not exist if I try to add it to a User account.

If I create a new role, there aren’t the following capabilities to assign to it:
espresso_event_admin
espresso_event_manager
espresso_group_admin

What’s going on? What am I doing wrong?

WP 3.6.1
Event Espresso 3.1.35.1P/Permissions 1.5.4.1
New install after removing the freebie one

If the capabilities were lost, can I deactivate/reactivate the Event Espresso plugin to recreate them (or the Permissions plugin?) or do I have to uninstall/reinstall (please no! I have a TON of recurring events I had to manually created)

Thanks in advance!

Hi Geoff,

When selecting a role for the user, do any Event roles come up at all? If Master Admin comes up, select that one.

Please note removing the plugin will not remove the events, so reinstalling isn’t an issue. (However I still recommend backing your site up as a precaution – better safe than sorry).

No, no Even Roles come up, neither are there any capabilities listed so that I can add those capabilities to an existing roles -or- one I created. I really need to create a role and add the capabilities…there are people in my club that I want to have almost full control, but not complete control. :) However, no, there are no Event Express roles that exist in the drop-down list to assign to Users.

When you go to EE->User Roles, do you see the “Espresso_” user roles?

This is what I see- so I don’t think so:

Hi Geoff,

Are you using a plugin to create additional roles? The Permissions add-on does not have this capability so there may be a conflict between the plugin you’re using to create additional user roles and the Permissions add-on.

I am, but the issue occurred before I installed the plugin to create additional roles. I decided to deactivate/reactivate the Event Espresso Permissions Plugin and it recreated the missing role and I think I can do what I need to now.
