I just updated to 3.1.34.P and I’m not seeing Firstdata connect 2.0 as a payment option. Is still an option?

Hi there,

Support for First Data Connect 2 has been discontinued. In its place we’ve added support for First Data E4. If you’d prefer to continue using Connect 2.0 there is an archive that can be downloaded here:

https://github.com/eventespresso/Gateways/tree/master/firstdata_connect_2

Then it can be installed in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways

Please be aware that the FirstData Connect 2.0 is no longer being maintained or supported so the archived files may not work with the new version of Event Espresso. We recommend using one of the supported gateways.

so can the original Firstdata Connect be used?

It might work, but we can no longer support it if it doesn’t. There’s a chance it will still work although you may encounter some issues with it since it was discontinued about 7 months ago and there have been a few changes since then to the way that Event Espresso handles the gateways.

okay then what is the Firstdata option that is listed under the payment settings? one says just First Data Settings and the other one listed says Firstdata E4 settings?

They are both First Data options. Neither of them work with connect2. E4 is the newer option and from what we understand the option that most new First Data accounts are set up with today.
