The calendar widget does not show “ongoing” events on my site. If the events are not “ongoing” they display. But currently you will see that I only show events till February. We want to use ongoing because most events are drop-in and do not need registration.
Are there any start/end dates associated with these ongoing events? They still need to have a start date and end date or they will not display on the calendar, or calendar widget.
Sorry this title should have said “event espresso widget” not the calendar widget. I am only showing events till february which is completely useless so I have removed it. However I have added it to a portfoolio and craeted one, it is here: http://www.thetangoclub.com/portfolio/test-ee-widget/
I think the bug is that for ongoing events it displays from the first one rather than from today’s date, hence mine starts on 5th February with my first ongoing event. The widget is (was) very useful but not behaving like this so can it be fixed please.
@Liz I’m not sure I understand the question/problem. Ongoing events don’t follow the same rules as events with specific dates/times (because, by definition, they are ongoing, therefore don’t have specific start/end dates).
If I understand what you’re trying to illustrate on that page, your problem is that events from as far back as February are displaying on your “Upcoming Events” widget — but this is because you have set those events to be ongoing — so as ongoing events, it is implied that they would be upcoming, because there is no specific end date for those events. Given that many of those events seem to re-occur, I’m thinking you are using the Ongoing event toggle incorrectly. Instead of making those Ongoing events, just make them regular events that expire as normal.
