We have WordPress 3.6 and EE 3.1.35.2.P. There are many EE updates waiting with a compatability status of “unknown.” We want to know if it’s safe to install these updates. Right now our calendar is acting funny, sometimes disappearing, not allowing us to add new or recurring events.

Hi Susannah,

How are you today? Where do you see that the compatibility status is “unknown”? In general, each version of Event Espresso and the add-ons are compatible with each other and if not we try to make that very clear. But, the longer you wait the more difficult it will be to upgrade to a new version (but you’re probably ok right now).

However, your WordPress version is getting behind. You’re on WordPress 3.6 and 3.8+ is available.

If I were you I’d take the time to setup a staging server where you can test updates before deploying them live (generally that’s a good practice).

On our WordPress dashboard for the floridapubliclibrary.org site, there is an icon that shows the number of updates available and whether or not each is compatible with the current version of WordPress being used.
Everything is upgraded now. But when updates were done, we lost colors and settings of the the EE calendar. Those settings have been reentered and the calendar is now working fine. Back in business! Thanks…
